The Greater Bethesda Church is a Bible based ministry seeking to develop and empower Christians for daily living according to John 17:6. It is designed to incorporate multigenerational worship experiences, practical life application through Bible study and teaching, and extended ministry opportunities to foster within each believer an authentic and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through the impartation of the Holy Spirit.
Greater Bethesda Church, led by Pastor Brian King opened its doors on November 15, 2015 in the multi-purpose room of James Madison Middle School. In less than two years, the congregation moved to its present location in Clinton, MD. Pastor King loves the Greater Bethesda Church community and is destined to allow the world to “Witness Love Lived” through its ministry and service.
Pastor King is known for his in-depth teaching of God’s word; he goes beyond the “surface” of the scriptures to reveal lessons and messages that may be applied to individuals’ daily living.
He is joined in life and in ministry, by his wife of over twenty years, Mrs. Courtney M. King. From their union, his two beloved sons Brian Jr. and Cameron Theodore were born. Pastor King’s sincere desire is to please God by living by his favorite scripture Hebrews 12:14 “Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which, no man shall see the Lord.”
The vision of Greater Bethesda Church is to be a “soul saving station”, according to Acts 2:47, where people come to be saved and experience healing, restoration and empowerment through the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written word of God. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent is three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.
